Elijah Ogira is one of Kenya’s most influential sculptors who demonstrates an incredible transformative power over tree stumps, trunks, branches, and roots, remolding them into both semi-abstract and functional stunning works of art. Environmentally sensitive, Elijah only works with found wood and is careful never to do damage to living trees when creating his one-of-a-kind pieces that range from salad bowls and mask sculptures to hand-crafted chairs and beautifully grained tables.

ELIJAH’S NSK EXPERIENCE
Working on my NSK project was creative, explorative, and constructive. I had a wonderful art space to compose my mural and I thank the entire team for their support and assistance that enabled me to make it happen.
